This is page 1 of the three pages about the characters in Dilbert.
This is the one that will focus on the Family
characters, the ones who live with Dilbert. So,
read on!

Dogbert is the "pet" of Dilbert. But, Dilbert has, BY NO MEANS, any
control over Dogbert. They are alike in the sense that they both are
technologically literate, wear glasses, and can talk. In most other
ways, they are complete opposities. However, Dogbert occasionaly
(rarely) shows his affection for Dilbert by saving his life.
Dogbert's goal is to conquer the earth and make all humans his slaves
(see DNRC). He has succeeded several
times in doing this, but, to paraphrase Dogbert, "No matter how good
it feels to do something, it always feels better when you stop doing
it." Anyway, he is a very cynical "dog." He also has many aliases
such as St. Dogbert (who exorcises the Demons of Stupidity). There is
far too much detail needed to describe Dogbert, so I'll just leave you
with this much.
Click here to view a picture of Ratbert. Another member of Dilbert's family is Ratbert
. Ratbert is a rat (suprise!). He is an optomistic rat.
He is an optimistic, bubbly rat. He is an optomistic, bubbly, butt of
every one's jokes rat. He is a ...well... you get the picture.
Ratbert has a good heart and a weak mind. Put them together, and you
get Ratbert. He is always cheerful. Also, he works in a lab (a lab
rat), so he sometimes has to test dangerous chemicals (such as
cosmetics). he sometimes gets a job, one that no one would want (like
a temporary worker or an intern). So, he's sort of a predictable
character.
Click here to view a picture of Bob, and here to see a picture of Bob, Dawn, and Rex.
Living at dilbert's house, there are three dinosaurs, Bob
, Dawn, and Rex.
Bob and Dawn were found one day when Dilbert proved that it would be
impossible for ALL dinosaurs to be extinct. Sure enough, Bob and Dawn
revealed themselves. They all lived in that house together, helping each
other out from time to time. Then, one day, Bob and Dawn decided to have
an egg. They didn't know how, and their instinct was almost gone. So,
they called the library reference desk and found out. "It's gross" said
Bob. Dawn and Rex had a few more months of apperances, then they sort of
faded away. They never appeared again, but Bob came up again to give
people wedgies. This year, Dawn and Rex appeared, in a poll to see if the
readers still wanted to see them. No results yet. We'll have to wait and
see.
